New imaging center coming to Philadelphia aims to expand access to care

A new specialized healthcare facility is coming to the City of Brotherly Love.

The Black Doctors Consortium at the Dr. Ala Stanford Center for Health Equity broke ground on their new Imaging Center in Philadelphia.

The new Imaging Center will provide access to X-Ray, Mammography, CT, and Ultrasounds, marking a transformative step in bringing critical diagnostic services directly into communities.

Congressman Dwight Evans helped secure federal funding that helped bring this new facility to life.

“The Black Doctors Consortium has demonstrated that those who would served by this funding, despite the facility being located outside of PA-2, would be dispersed across parts of North Philadelphia that would include my constituents, particularly those who are plagued by the multiple social determinants of health, will speak to the community’s need, alongside Dr. Ala Stanford.” Congressman Brendan Boyle said in a news release.

Stanford, a practicing physician for more than 20 years and board-certified by the American Board of Surgery in both pediatric and adult general surgery, rose to prominence in Philadelphia for her work responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. […]
