Dr. Dave Oxman announced Wednesday that he is suspending his campaign for the Democratic nomination in the 3rd Congressional District and throwing his support behind fellow physician Ala Stanford.
Oxman, an intensive care doctor and medical school professor at Thomas Jefferson University, has previously said that physicians running for office can help rebuild a Democratic Party that has “lost the trust of so many people.”
“During the darkest days of the pandemic — when far too many communities were being left behind — Dr. Stanford stepped forward and showed extraordinary leadership,” said Dr. Oxman. “She brings the vision, integrity, and independence we need to fight for those values in Washington. There are many fine candidates in this race, but in Dr. Stanford I see the qualities we need most of all in Congress.” […]
